article mentions how the Republicans have hired top Willaim Morris agent Jeffrey Barry to try to procure Country and Western stars to trek over to Minneapolis for this years Republican Convention. One Democratic Operative says that the Republican convention “will be a snoozefest. They’re really worried,”
“It’s not the celebs going per se, it’s the energy. Celebrities cause excitement. Your ability to get press is enhanced. You can get into entertainment sections of newspapers and TV, and that’s where a campaign wants to go to spread its message in nontraditional places. Republicans don’t have as good a shot at that.”
We’ll see if that bit of insight will be proven right.
