Read in the Page Six section of Saturday’s (May 17th, 2008) NY Post that author James Frey had a mini-riot break out at a recent reading of his new book. According to the newspaper…
At a reading of his new book “Bright Shiny Morning” at Whiskey-a-Go-Go in Hollywood on Thursday (May 15th, 2008), six bouncers tried to remove six hooligans who were there more or heavy-metal band Black Tide than to hear him read from his novel.
According to the NY Post, “Literary types were horrified as the brawl spilled out to the sidewalk, where it took 20 cops to quell the violence. Three men were arrested.”
According to James Frey,
“I’m trying to break the mold of what readings can be”. — James Frey
Nothing like a fight to get tongues wagging…
It also helps to have a publicist or someone on your team with a hotline to the folks who run Ny Post’s PAGE SIX.
