George Clooney — The Last Movie Star?

Boy does the media love this man.  Too bad he hasn’t been in a movie that’s captured the imagination of the American movie-going public in ages.

So Time magazine proclaims George Clooney, “The Last Movie Star”, huh?  Based on what?  Well, writer Joel Stein tries his best to explain, but it looks like George Clooney’s stardom is a figment of the media’s imagination.  Americans don’t care about George Clooney–based on the box office of the couple of movies he’s been involved with.

Leatherheads, Michael Clayton, Good Night Good Luck, Solaris, Intolerable Cruelty, Three Kings, Out Of Sight, etc…

Hey, he needed Brad Pitt and a ton of other personalities to get over in the ‘Oceans’ movies.  I loved Intolerable Cruelty, Three Kings and Out Of Sight, but who’s seen ’em?
