“Rodney K” — Willie D
Wednesday, May 14, 2008 — By Wow Jones
Haven’t heard the hilarious rap song ‘Rodney K’ by Rapper Willie D (of Legendary Geto Boys) in many, many moons. In fact, I haven’t heard the song since January of 1996. It was at a book party for the Armond White Book, “The Resistance: Ten Years of Pop Culture That Shook The World”.
Already immortalized in the Armond White Book, “The Resistance: Ten Years Of Pop Culture That Shook The World” with the essay “Boom In His Head” AND in the pages of NYC-Based weekly Black newspaper THE CITY SUN where Armond White was the Arts Editor/Movie and Music Critic–Willie D made one classic rap record that will NEVER be forgotten.
Earlier today I Did a Google search on the song was able to find it on youtube. For those interested, check it out. It’s below.
